Publication Projects.

GSBHS started publishing more than 15 years ago. Since then our book publishing projects have included My Home in Tasmania (facsimile edition) Louisa Anne Meredith, Some of my Bush Friends in Tasmania (new compendium of Vols. 1 & 2) Louisa Anne Meredith, and more recently Houses & Estates of Old Glamorgan (original edition & revised edition) Maureen Martin Ferris, Malcolm Ward & Tully Brooks.

Our huge catalogue of fascinating historical information, including photos, personal reminiscences etc. of the Glamorgan Spring Bay area, are used by our Members and other researchers in their publications.

“Houses & Estates of Old Glamorgan”
A joint effort in every sense

We are extremely happy and proud that the Glamorgan Spring Bay Historical Society was awarded the 2018 Marita Bardenhagen Memorial Award for Local History, for our Publication Houses & Estates of Old Glamorgan.

The photo shows Society Vice President and one of the authors Maureen Martin Ferris receiving the Award from Dianne Snowden (historian/author & former head of Heritage Tasmania) and Ross Latham (Tasmanian Archives).

Congratulations to the authors, Maureen Martin Ferris, Malcolm Ward and Tully Brookes & Photographer Marion Harrison. And of course the great team at GSBHS which made the publication possible, design and layout by Diane Bricknell, Editor Lou Coghill, Financial management and printing liaison–Noel Stanley, and the mighty team of proof readers and spell checkers, too numerous to name.

We are well on the way with our next publication, a reprint of Kettle on the Hob, a book about the property Kelvedon and the first settlers the Cotton Family, to be followed by a reprint of Louisa Anne Meredith's My Home in Tasmania (currently our of print), and a new book Houses & Estates of Old Spring Bay.

Our latest book is a revamped reprint (with permission) of Kettle on the Hob by Francis Cotton
